Successful marketers know before they can even think about creating a marketing piece or campaign, they have to invest the time and energy into creating a crystal-clear picture of the person they’re marketing to.

Do you take the time and effort to think about your “who” before you map out your campaign?

Most marketers and business owners DON’T invest the time to think about their who before they begin their marketing and the result is marketing that doesn’t reach its potential.

In the previous chapter, I showed you the power of answer the question “what’s in it for me?” and until you know exactly who you are trying to market to, you cannot answer this question.

Before you start your next marketing effort, take some time and create a profile of the person who you want to respond. Where do they live? Are they married? Retired? Have kids in school? What are their hopes? What are their fears?

The more questions you can ask and answer and then use the answers in your marketing, the more effective your next campaign will be.
